Get cracking. Whip it. Whip it good.

A quick update on recent projects:

First of all, Hair Dye. This short film wrapped in December and I am now bringing all the little pieces together in post production. A first cut is almost complete, which will be followed by a second cut and colour correction. Then I will move on to sound – first mix, foley and a final mix. I hate audio editing. It’s the worst part, I find.
At this rate Hair Dye will be completed in May. A website, trailer and images will be available through Quarter To Four soon.

Just as soon as I am done with Hair Dye, I will complete Living With Benjamin. This was shot almost a year ago and post production was promptly halted after just two months to begin the enormous pre-production of Hair Dye. I decided to complete Hair Dye first because more people were involved in the project, so I would like to get it out to the masses (all 12 people) sooner. I’m sure Drum, Dark and Clint (the Benjamin crew) understand.

Once Hair Dye and Living With Benjamin are finally out of the way, I will be able to complete the Roxby Downs documentary. I was on target to have this completed before the Outback Fringe 2006, but again the health problems interrupted things and the deadline quickly became out-of-reach.

I have officially thrown away the keys and all responsibility of The Bloody News website. The decision came during the health-scare moments and I decided I just needed to walk away from the project. Drum, Clint and my wife Kerry agree it was be a wise decision to make. This has also freed up much time to allow me to concentrate on the big picture. Part-owner and Editor-in-Chief Erik Myers now holds the keys and plans to re-open the website with fellow staffer and writer Armando.

Also on websites, I soon have a meeting with Zealous Hair & Beauty about producing a site for them. This is a contra-deal as they did the awesome hair and make-up for Hair Dye. I am looking forward to designing this website; it has potential to be more of an online business card as apposed to a stock-standard website so I hope to get a bit crazy and show off a cool design for them.

Good mate Clint is heading overseas in a week, the lucky shit. He’s earned it – he’s been looking forward to this trip for so long, I’m glad he’s finally taking off. To help keep in touch, we have set-up a blog for him: The Price of Eggs.

And finally, a new Quarter To Four website is just around the corner. This will just be a big online business card with portfolio and project pages which I hope will continue to grow and grow.

So there you have it. These confirmed projects, along with another handful in the pipeline are all keeping me on my toes. Good fun.
